1. Background information

Operating in Viet Nam since 1976, after 28 years of providing collaboration and assistance in development, the Coopération Internationale pour le Développement et la Solidarité (CIDSE) have provided Vietnamese cadres with working capacity, and transferred programs, program management skills to the descendant Vietnamese organizations by the end of 2005. Amongst those organizations, CRDSC (the Centre for Research and Development on Sustainable Communities ) was joined by staff members, previous key officers of health and integrated community development programs from the former-CIDSE Established on 2 January 2007, is a Vietnamese non-governmental organization and membership of Viet Nam Union of Science and Technology Associations(VUSTA). Its operation office is placed at Nam Thanh Cong Collectivity Area, Dong Da district, Hanoi Capital of Vietnamcity.

CRDSC will be a social enterprise operating effectively in the improvement of the quality of life and environment, contributing to building a prosperous, equal and happy society



Contributing to the successful implementation of the poverty reduction program initiated by the Vietnam Government; improving the quality of services in the areas of health, education, livelihoods, environment and techniques transfer, particularly for ethnic minorities and people living in mountainous and costal areas.

  • Technical capacity

With capable members and collaborators from different sectors, CRDSChas been proven a prominent agency in the following areas:

  1. Conducting base-line surveys, feasible and operational researches for development projects, health interventions as well as integrated socio-economic development programs;
  • Providing technical assistance to the design, implementation, supervision and evaluation of above-mentioned development, programs; particularly for those covering difficult-to-access areas and targeting vulnerable sub-population groups;

3.        Holding community and skill-based formation and training courses, developing educational materials for disseminating general knowledge and technical guidance in the field of Health and Education; Livelihoods and Life Quality Improvement, Processing and Food safety , Green Energy and Climate Change , Biotechnology and Environment

  1. Conduct training course for GIZ staff on HIV mainstreaming, Hepatitis B and C prevention, drug prevention 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014
  2. Behavior change communication and Harm reduction for HIV Prevention in Drug Treatment in 3 northern provinces 2010-2012
  3. Conduct training course for staff small enterprise company on HIV mainstreaming supported by Demark Company, 2008-2009

  5. Harm reduction for injecting drug users in Dong Da and Thanh Xuan districts Hanoi2004-2006 (collaboration with Mac Burnet Institute);


Development of training materials and educational products

  1. Develop educational product “Prevention of Domestic Violence for migrant workers. 2012”
  2. Develop Material: “Communication Changed Behaviour to prevent HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C for People Who Inject Drug and detoxification people” in HAARP project (HIV/AIDS Asia Regional Program) – component in the Ministry of Labor – Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA)
  3. Develop training material on “Transgender Group and HIV Prevention. 2011
  4. Develop training materials “Manual on HIV/AIDS Prevention for MSM. 2010
  5. Develop training material “Training of trainers- drugs and HIV” for 4 Northern mountainous provinces (collaboration with UNODC, 2008);

Advocacy on health policy

  1. Participate in the research and elaboration of The HIV/AIDS Strategy of Vietnam Civil Society Organizations in the period 2014-2020 (collaboration with VUSTA)
  2. Participate in the research on 3 trial deployment models the Insurance Law 2014 at the commune level in Hanoi city and Hanam province (collaboration with Evidence-Based Health Policy Development and Research and Training Center , for community development (EBHPD and RTCCD).11.2014


Design, implementation and evaluation of health projects

  1. Give technical supports on Maternal and Child Health Care for UCODEF project in Lao Cai province 2009-2010
